There are so many reasons to love summer in Cleveland — the shaded patios, the lush greenery, lakeside activities on the shores of Lake Erie — we could go on. But one of our favorite things about this season is the abundance of summer festivals around town!
From upscale flea markets to outdoor concerts and food festivals, there is so much going on this summer in Cleveland and plenty of opportunities to celebrate our incredible community. We rounded up 21 events that we are most looking forward to, so grab your calendars and start planning!

The 2018 Feast of the Assumption
When: August 15-18 Where: Little Italy, Cleveland The annual Feast of the Assumption Festival (locally referred to as "The Feast") is an event that Clevelanders look forward to each year. The four-day Catholic street festival originated in 1898 and surrounds the famed Holy Rosary Church on Mayfield Road. You don't have to be Catholic to enjoy the festivities, as is also serves as a general celebration of Cleveland's storied Italian heritage. Enjoy live musical performances, interactive exhibits, carnival rides, games, fireworks and more! Glier's Goettafest | August 2-5

Goetta, a meat and grain mix pronounced "get-uh," is a local delicacy meant to be celebrated. And that's just what this festival was created for! Glier's Goettafest is the largest goetta festival in the world and allows you to sample a large variety of foods made with the beloved mixture. In fact, all food vendors are required to mix it into their offerings! Between bites, enjoy carnival games, craft beer, life music and a fireworks show. The Ohio River Paddlefest invites nearly 2,000 paddlers to travel down the Ohio River. Along the course, paddlers can explore local wonders (like the historic Mill Creek), paddle under the city's iconic bridges, marvel at the skyline and soak in the late-summer sunshine. Halfway through the course, there will be a "Halfway Celebration" on the Covington shoreline, featuring live music and refreshments.
